Patterson Triple Horn F/Bb/F alto

The new Patterson triple horn is a culmination of a 2-year project requested by Gabriel Kovach, principal horn of the Phoenix Symphony. Gabe has owned a number of triple horns and gave Patterson Hornworks valuable feedback on the weaknesses of each of their designs. This new design dramatically improved all of these weaknesses and may be the first triple that truly plays well in all registers of each key. They designed a horn that has a long leadpipe for the F and Bb sides of the horn and a shorter leadpipe for the f-alto horn. The valve placement is reminiscent of the legendary pre-1985 Paxman model, however, everything else was changed. The end result is an exceptionally smooth-playing and great sounding instrument. Unlike many other triple horns, the tone match between the three horns is excellent. To save weight, specially designed hollow valve rotors were used. The horn only weighs only 1 pound more than the Patterson Geyer!
