The Laskey Protege is a Laskey Lover’s Beginner Mouthpiece. The rim has the traditional Laskey contour with a defined edge giving you crisp articulations. The rim size is right in the middle of the road so that young players can grow with the mouthpiece for several years. The bore, cup, and body contour provide a clear and versatile tone. The Protege offers the signature Laskey sound to young beginners at an affordable price.

*****
I am blown away by the quality of Laskey's Protege beginning horn mouthpiece! It features a larger inner diameter (17.75) giving students' lips more room to vibrate, great flexibility across the range, a cushioning rim, and a full, resonant tone - all at a more affordable price point. When advanced students make the upgrade to a professional mouthpiece, moving to Laskey's G line will be an easy transition. This will be my go to recommendation for every beginning and intermediate student in my studio!
