Job Announcement: Music Sales Administrator

MUSIC SALES ADMINISTRATOR
HOUGHTON HORNS LLC, KELLER, TEXAS
$18 AN HOUR - PART-TIME (10-20 HOURS A WEEK), PERMANENT

Do you have an interest in musical instruments? Are you an organized and motivated person? Then we have a great opportunity for you! Houghton Horns LLC, an internationally renowned brass instrument shop located near Fort Worth, Texas is seeking part-time music sales administrators to join our team. This role will involve inventory management, shipping and receiving, shop maintenance, instrument testing, and sales.

Potential Job Duties:

  • Shipping out products to customers around the world.
  • Communicating with customers about the status of their shipments.
  • Following up with sales leads.
  • Processing incoming inventory.
  • Inventory stock takes and price updates.
  • Writing and maintaining product descriptions on our eCommerce outlets.
  • Acoustically testing instruments with BIAS (the Brass Instrument Analysis System).
  • Physically testing instruments with our leak detector.
  • Maintaining the playability of our instrument inventory.
  • Organizing and tidying our showrooms, lobby, storage, and group workspaces.
  • Working with customers to help them find the instruments and accessories they need to maximize their artistic expression in person, via video conference, and over the phone.
  • Other duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • You must have strong communication skills with the ability to write in a clear, concise, and grammatically correct manner.
  • You must physically be able to package products for shipping and move parcels up to 50 lbs.
  • You must be highly organized with the ability to keep track of multiple projects.
  • You must have a professional, positive, and proactive approach to work.
  • You must have basic computer skills. We heavily utilize email, point-of-sale/inventory software (AIM), eCommerce software (WooCommerce), project management software (Monday.com), group communication software (Slack), and video conferencing software (Zoom) in the daily running of the business. Familiarity with any of these is a huge bonus; however, we can train you in their use.
  • Experience with musical instrument performance is a plus.

Other notes:

  • We are looking for people who can work 15-20 hours per week.
  • Hours are flexible, and may be well-suited to private music teachers looking to earn extra income.
  • You would be eligible for our employee discount program after six months of work.
