Playing Characteristics

The Engelbert Schmidt Golden Cut features a Geyer wrap and lightweight construction, with a medium large throat bell and standard bore. Its yellow brass construction is capable of delivering a rich, clear tone with outstanding response and projection. Articulations are clear and easy, and the hand assembled one-piece rotor section provides quick and consistent action.

Ergonomics

Focus on ergonomics results in a comfortable arrangement of the valve and thumb levers. An adjustable thumb lever and pinky ring allows players to customize the instrument to their hand size, ensuring a relaxed and stress-free hand position. Standard string linkage provides additional personal adjustment and consistent player feedback.

Special Features

Handcrafted in Germany, this custom horn stands out for its lightweight craftsmanship and adjustability. Main tuning slide inserts can be removed for various tuning capabilities, whether your are playing in American or European settings. Compared to rotors from other manufacturers, Engelbert Schmidt horns are hand-assembled using nickel rotor casings and knuckles without ferrules or other connections, for an uninterrupted and smooth inner bore. Each Englebert Schmidt Golden Cut horn can be interchanged to sit in either F/Bb or or Bb/F.
