Good overall condition, and the previous owner upgraded its leadpipe with one in yellow brass, which has improved the tone and efficiency of this example. The horn itself is a rarer Holton H-181 from the 2000s, while the leadpipe was new from Holton and stamped H-178. It has a rich and buttery tone that responds well, with a greater dynamic range and efficiency than other nickel Kruspe wraps and H-179 models.
More than 90% lacquer still remains, with minor signs of solder and repair, and some slight push-in around the leadpipe brace. It has no effect on tone or playability, and we chose to leave it to preserve the surrounding lacquer. A great option for an player looking for an affordable double horn!
