The Thein MH One trumpets were developed in collaboration with world-renowned trumpet player Matthias Höfs. They provide a stable, warm sound for any trumpet player concentrating on classical playing, and like all Thein brass instruments, they are highly customizable.
------------------------------------------------------
Compared to the MH One model, the Sibirius Air is light as a feather, flexible, extremely fast and bright. Handmade in Germany by the Thein master craftsmen, this Bb trumpet is specially created for professional use and customization. Featuring a changeable bell or leadpipe system for various playing applications, at home on the concert stage or recording sound room. Similar to a French bead bell, the Mainzer rim is formed using a brass/nickel silver half-wire (semicircular cross-section) that is beaded and soldered at the bell end and cut flush. This adds a good pithiness or clarity to the sound.
See Brochure #1 and Brochure #2 for further details.
Playing Characteristics
The Sibirius is one of the most popular Thein trumpet models. We wanted to optimize the standard trumpet played by every trumpeter and make it more flexible, with increased projection and resonance from its lightweight construction. It should be suitable for any area like an orchestra, as lead trumpet, etc. Very good intonation and tone separation in all pitches. Exchangeable mouthpipes and bell versions allow an individualisation at the highest level.
Thanks to the various bell and lead pipe variations, the instrument is incredibly versatile and can be customized. The philosophy behind the development of the MH One was the greatest possible flexibility, variety of sounds, extremely fast response and possible variations.
Matthias Höfs: “We benefited from the experience we gained in the development of earlier models. And I’m very happy that it has become such a versatile instrument.“
