Part-Time Events & Venue Coordinator
Part-Time Events & Venue Coordinator
Houghton Horns · Keller, TX
About Houghton Horns
Houghton Horns is one of the country’s most respected brass specialty shops. We serve professional brass players, college and university programs, high school band directors, and serious students across the country. We design and build our own Verus line of instruments, and we sell, repair, and ship brass instruments and accessories through our Keller showroom, our website, and major third-party platforms.
Alongside the shop, our Keller facility is a working performance venue. We regularly host concerts, masterclasses, artist residencies, educational events, and community gatherings, and we record and produce content from our space. We’re a small, tight-knit team that cares deeply about the instruments we work on and the musicians we work with. Our shop culture values craftsmanship, honesty with customers, and steady learning.
The Role
We’re hiring a Part-Time Events & Venue Coordinator to help oversee and grow our expanding calendar of concerts, artist residencies, masterclasses, educational events, rentals, and community partnerships at our Keller showroom and performance venue.
This is a people-first role for someone who enjoys working with artists, musicians, educators, and the public while keeping the logistics moving behind the scenes. One day you might be coordinating hospitality for a guest artist and setting up the sound booth for a recording; the next you’re building an event page, fielding rental inquiries, and helping promote an upcoming clinic. It’s a genuinely varied role, and no two weeks look exactly the same.
Most Saturdays are a standing part of the schedule. On quieter Saturdays you’ll focus on event prep and coordination work; on busier ones you’ll help our team keep the showroom floor running smoothly. Additional evening hours and occasional Sundays come with events on the calendar.
You’ll work closely with our events and marketing team and report to Mark Houghton. A/V and recording are an active, hands-on part of this job: we record concerts and clinics, produce content from our space, and you’ll help operate basic sound and recording equipment during events. We’ll train you on the platforms and gear you need, so the right attitude and willingness to learn matter more than a long résumé.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the primary liaison for guest artists, vendors, and rental clients
- Coordinate event logistics, scheduling, communication, and hospitality
- Create and manage event pages on our website, including descriptions, dates and times, ticketing and RSVP setup, and reminder emails
- Manage artist and rental contracts, invoicing, and payment coordination
- Handle setup, teardown, and general upkeep of the hall for concerts, clinics, and rental events
- Operate the sound booth and A/V recording equipment during events, and help capture and produce concert, clinic, and event recordings
- Assist with local event newsletters, social media promotion, and other marketing efforts
- Help plan, organize, and execute concerts, clinics, masterclasses, and special events
- Help build and maintain relationships with local and state music organizations, schools, and community partners
- Field venue rental inquiries and follow up on event opportunities
- Support the showroom floor on Saturdays as needed when event work is light
- Participate in weekly remote meetings and report directly to Mark Houghton
- Additional related duties as needed in a small-team environment

- Available to work most Saturdays, occasional Sundays, and additional evening hours as events require
- Comfortable with light physical work, including setting up and moving chairs, stands, tables, signage, and basic A/V equipment
Preferred
- Basic experience with audio, video, or recording equipment
- Interest or background in music, arts administration, event planning, or community engagement
