Teaching students with unique learning styles
Drs. Benjamin and Sara Raviotta, hornist and flutist, developed these word rhythms based upon their work with students with dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning differences, but have found them beneficial for all of their students. Their research can be found online at library.unt.edu.
Chef's Note:
Students have unique learning styles and it is important to provide different tools so that every student can be successful. This list of rhythms and pictures may help reinforce the sound of each rhythm, especially for your auditory learners. Encourage them to draw pictures of the rhythm words above the notes in their music, if needed.
