Brad Edwards is a unique genius and famous teacher. He is still helping the trombone world; thank you, thank you for that! I bought the iPad version of his latest book “60 Vignettes.” It is a special method for both trombone students but also for professional trombonists. Great work, Brad!

I hope this way of teaching repertoire is the start of a whole series of such “vignettes” by a variety of composers/instrumentalists/teachers, as it is a refreshing approach to many problems facing students of the instrument. A really fine work!

…these can be enjoyed on all levels, as their musical value goes much beyond ease of performance. The language is traditionally tonal. Within that, there is a great variety of styles, meters, tempi, and moods. Performers are encouraged to add their own dynamics as well as articulations. In the introduction Dr. Edwards includes excellent pedagogical advice on practicing these short pieces. Title page, layout, and printing are superb.
