Dear Houghton Horns friends, colleagues and customers...
As Dennis and I get ready to travel to our new home in Elizabeth, PA, I wanted to clarify a few things and outline what's happening in this blog post.
Firstly, we are NOT selling or quitting the business. There are 4 owners of Houghton Horns: Dennis, myself, Mark and Derek. We will continue our weekly Zoom meetings where we all make decisions and discuss how to move the business forward. Derek and Kacie Wright will be managing the daily operations at Houghton Horns. Our amazing and knowledgeable staff, comprised of Josh Davis, Jonathan Cardon, Kyle Roberts, and Chris Wright will continue to provide brass players with outstanding products and service.
Houghton Horns Repair and service will still be operating at 121 Lorine St in Keller. We effectively split the location of the retail and the repair side of Houghton Horns. Chris Reddick and Ben Allen are skilled craftsmen and are more than capable to address any brass repair needs at our Lorine St location. They lead a team of repair technicians which consists of Chris Wright, Kyle Roberts, and Natalie Miller.
Secondly, Dennis and I will be still very much involved in Houghton Horns. I am planning to come back for TBA, Jump Start Academy, Region Mock auditions, TMEA and other special events during the year. We are entering "semi-retirement", but as Dennis said, "We ain't dead YET!"
Lastly, Dennis and I are excited to spend time with family in PA. I will be doing some private teaching and Dennis wants to work on building his own horn designs. But we are also looking forward to using this opportunity to travel and reach out to individuals and universities in the Northeast.
We look forward to seeing our friends and customers whenever we come back to visit in Texas!
