Ricco Kühn

Serial numbers are located on the underside of the finger lever bracket. They are normally 7 digits long, preceded by a 3-digit model number.

They follow this format:
- 1st and 2nd Digit: Year Made
- 3rd Digit: Instrument Type
- 4th and 5th Digit: Unknown, may relate to build specifications
- 6th and 7th Digit: Sequence of Production

Please note, the first 2 digits will always be the year made. For earlier models, or a year when production output is low, the serial number may be 6 digits. A high production year may be 8 digits.

Example: W 293 #2691763. It is the 293 model, 26 equals 2026, 9 equals French Horn, and it was the 63rd instrument made that year.
