Thein Brass handcrafts trumpets, trombones, and other brass instruments in Bremen, Germany. Most models are offered with a wide range of bells, leadpipes, metals, and finishes, so players can tailor the instrument to their sound.

Thein developed the Maxim with jazz trombonists Marques Young, Uwe Granitza, Jilt Jansma, and Jürgen Neudert. It's built for precise intonation, quick response, and control, with a warm, expressive sound that fills the room.

The standard Maxim has a 7-1/2" bronze bell with Thein's ice-plated finish, a .488" nickel silver handslide, and a changeable leadpipe. The tuning slide carries Thein's Maxim balancer. Thein also offers an optional F attachment for the Maxim, which adds a full, focused low range for studio work. Thein recommends its A11C mouthpiece, and the Thein mouthpiece guide covers the rest of the lineup.
