Currently in the queue for Ultrasonic Cleaning, will be available to play/purchase in 2-3 weeks.
This King Eroica horn was built in the 1970s, the 1170 series made in the King workshop under Geroge McKracken, before they merged with Conn-Selmer. These earlier horns are true to the professional McKracken design, versus the later Eroica 2270 series, where Conn altered the design including a different bell taper and heavier materials. This specific 6xxxxx serial range, circa 1975-77, are some of the most desirable Kruspe wraps ever made.
This horn has been maintained and adult owned for most of its life. It is in great overall condition, with minor lacquer wear and a handful of dings. The rotors are in excellent shape, with compression all under a 1, better than most examples we've seen. Additionally, Dennis Houghton has fitted a custom leadpipe and a Bb tuning slide insert, which has enhanced its efficiency and response. The owner has included a well-used Protec case for shipping, and we have new cases available for purchase. This horn is a great option for a serious student or professional player!
