This is a rare pro horn from an American workshop, hand-built with a professional German Meinlschmidt rotor section, custom bell tail, and hand-hammered bell flare. Lanstro started out customizing Conn horns, and later built his own designs and model, before closing shop in the 2010s. While his "Modified Conn" horns occasionally pop up for sale, this is the elusive "Custom AL1" model.
This horn has been professionally owned and maintained throughout its life. Overall, in great cosmetic condition, with minor signs of use and a smooth unlacquered finish. The rotor compression is within excellent used range, for many for years of playing, and the slides benefit from heavy slide grease like Jm #8. Includes a Marcus Bonna case.
