The 30F is part of Laskey's F Series lineup, which includes the 28F, 30F, and 32F. The F Series is similar to the Helleberg-style H Series but about one-third shallower. It's a wonderful choice for 6/4 CC and contrabass tubas, and it can also make an F or bass tuba sound bigger.
Laskey makes two shanks to fit a wide range of receivers. The American shank fits most American-made and styled tubas, and the European shank fits many European-made and styled tubas. Most 6/4 CC tubas need the European shank. The wrong shank can sit too deep or too shallow in the receiver, which affects intonation and response.
