The 32G is part of Laskey's G Series lineup, which includes the 28G, 30G, and 32G. The G Series has a more brilliant sound than the Helleberg-style H Series, and it works especially well on rotary valve tubas. If you play a piston valve tuba, take a look at the 32H as well.
Laskey makes two shanks to fit a wide range of receivers. The American shank fits most American-made and styled tubas, and the European shank fits many European-made and styled tubas. Most 6/4 CC tubas need the European shank. The wrong shank can sit too deep or too shallow in the receiver, which affects intonation and response.
