The Laskey 85GW is a signature model designed for Gail Williams. It's built on the same underpart as the G Series, one of the most popular horn mouthpieces ever made, with one important change: a narrower rim.
The rim is round with a clear high point toward the inner edge. That shape gives you clean articulation, secure slotting, and easy flexibility from the bottom of the range to the top.
The narrower rim gives you more flexibility and freedom of movement while keeping the feel of the classic Laskey rim. The G Series cup underneath is Laskey's standard cup, with a balance of clarity and color that works for a wide range of players and playing styles.
The 85GW has an inside rim diameter of about 18.5 mm, the same as the standard 85G, so it's a natural step for players already on an 85G who want more flexibility.
American shanks fit most horns. European shanks fit Alexander horns and several other European brands. Some brands, like Yamaha, use a combination taper that takes either shank, and horns from makers like DĂĽrk come with two receivers so you can use either one.
