The Laskey E Series is a deeper version of the popular G Series. It shares the same rim and construction, with a deeper cup for players who want a free-blowing mouthpiece and a full sound.
The rim is round with a clear high point toward the inner edge. That shape gives you clean articulation, secure slotting, and easy flexibility from the bottom of the range to the top.
The deeper cup adds cushion in the low register, but it keeps more brilliance than you'd usually find in a cup this deep. That means the E Series isn't just for low horn. It can also handle higher parts while giving you a fuller sound without losing clarity.
Laskey names each size by its approximate inside rim diameter, so a 17.25 mm rim is the 725E. Every size shares the same cup and throat, which makes it easy to move up or down a size without changing your sound.
American shanks fit most horns. European shanks fit Alexander horns and several other European brands. Some brands, like Yamaha, use a combination taper that takes either shank, and horns from makers like DĂĽrk come with two receivers so you can use either one.
Always confirm mouthpiece fit with your instrument's manufacturer before you buy, or schedule an in-person or Zoom call with us and we'll help you verify the shank you need.
- Rim: Round contour with a high point toward the inner edge
- Cup: E Series cup, deeper than the G
- Throat: .182" (#14), 4.62 mm
- Sizes: 70E (17 mm) through 85E (18.5 mm) in quarter-millimeter steps
- Shank: American or European (special order)
- Finish: Silver-plated or gold-plated (special order)
- Construction: One-piece, CNC machined, with three-layer plating
Gold-plated mouthpieces are special order only and may take several months to arrive. All gold mouthpieces are final sale, since wear shows more easily on gold and is harder to repair than on silver.
