The Laskey J Series takes the rim and design behind the popular G Series and pairs it with a slightly shallower, more conical cup. The result is an immediate attack with a rounder, sweeter sound.
The rim is round with a clear high point toward the inner edge. That shape gives you clean articulation, secure slotting, and easy flexibility from the bottom of the range to the top.
The shallower cup gives you a quicker response and a focused, comfortable high register. That makes the J Series a great fit for solo playing and for players who spend a lot of time up high, without giving up the warmth you expect from a Laskey.
Laskey names each size by its approximate inside rim diameter, so a 17.25 mm rim is the 725J. Every size shares the same cup and throat, which makes it easy to move up or down a size without changing your sound.
American shanks fit most horns. European shanks fit Alexander horns and several other European brands. Some brands, like Yamaha, use a combination taper that takes either shank, and horns from makers like Dürk come with two receivers so you can use either one.
Always confirm mouthpiece fit with your instrument's manufacturer before you buy, or schedule an in-person or Zoom call with us and we'll help you verify the shank you need.

- Sizes: 70J (17 mm) through 85J (18.5 mm) in quarter-millimeter steps
- Shank: American or European (special order)
- Finish: Silver-plated or gold-plated (special order)
