Dürk’s D3 is individually manufactured and configured: leadpipes, hand-hammered bells, specially densified bell throats—every conical part is made from a single sheet with uniform wall thickness, resulting in more even vibration and response.
The completely hand-hammered body is crucial because this artisanal material compaction has a very positive effect on the instrument’s spectrum of sound and the speed of response.
For the Signature Series, Baborák works with Dürk to configure the instrument and personally tests it for playing feel, intonation, response, tone, resistance, and projection. In a sense, he breathes life into the instrument.
Each horn is certified, receives an entry in the Dürk Horns service passport, and is engraved with Radek Baborák’s signature.
