At Houghton Horns, we're excited to carry the Rath R00 series of trombones. These instruments beautifully bridge the gap between student-level models and Rath's custom, modular, handcrafted options. Michael Rath has poured all his knowledge into designing and producing these trombones, creating elegant yet affordable instruments.

Drawing from the most successful modular combinations of the Rath R10, R4F, and R9 models, they have developed a range of non-modular instruments: the R100 (Bb medium bore 0.500"), R400 (Bb/F large bore 0.547"), and R900 (Bb/F/Gb independent valves 0.562").

For musicians progressing from beginner instruments to their first professional-level trombone, the R00 series is excellent for developing style and technique before moving to a fully customized model. If you prefer an economical trombone without the complexities of a modular design, an instrument from the R00 series is ideal.

Sheet music, tubas, and pre-owned instruments are excluded from free shipping.

Most products receive a 15-day return policy that starts on the day the customer receives their order. The customer is responsible for the cost of initial and return shipping, except in the case of new French horns, trumpets, and trombones, which will receive free return shipping from 48 US states. There will be a $5 cleaning fee for each returned mouthpiece.

Some product categories are ineligible for return, which include special orders, sheet music, consumables such as lubricants or cleaning snakes, and personal items such as clothing or face masks.

For non-US customers, shipping, taxes, duties, and customs fees are non-refundable.
