The 42AF is Bach's 42 series symphonic trombone with the patented Infinity axial flow valve. The Infinity valve uses sealed bearings in the nose and back plate, so there's no metal-to-metal contact, which keeps tolerances tight and resists wear over time. Paired with the 8-1/2" one-piece hand-hammered 42 bell, the .547" large bore, and an open wrap F attachment, it gives you a warm sound, great projection, and an efficient, open feel. It's ideal for both symphonic and solo playing.
What sets it apart
- Infinity axial flow valve: a smooth, open-feeling valve built to stay tight for years.
- Open wrap F attachment: the F tubing has fewer tight turns, so the F side feels freer.
- Chrome-plated nickel silver inner slides: a smooth, quick handslide.
- Clear lacquer: adds a subtle warmth to the sound.
