Thein Brass handcrafts trumpets, trombones, and other brass instruments in Bremen, Germany. Most models are offered with a wide range of bells, leadpipes, metals, and finishes, so players can tailor the instrument to their sound.
The Thein American 22 was developed with Thein artist Nathan Zgonc of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. It pairs Thein's handmade German craftsmanship with an American-style setup: a Thayer valve, an 8-1/2" yellow brass bell, and a .547" large-bore slide.
This example has a cut bell, and both the bell and leadpipe are changeable, so the horn can grow with your playing. The reversed tuning slide carries Thein's Belcanto balancer, and the yellow brass handslide has nickel silver inner tubes. One leadpipe is included. Thein recommends its PT mouthpiece, a deep-cup American-style design. See the Thein mouthpiece guide for the full lineup.
