Thein Brass handcrafts trumpets, trombones, and other brass instruments in Bremen, Germany. Most models are offered with a wide range of bells, leadpipes, metals, and finishes, so players can tailor the instrument to their sound.

Thein's New York alto trombone in Eb has a modern, round, warm alto sound. The leadpipe is changeable, and Thein's Soloist leadpipe brings out more of the singing quality of the sound for solo work. Thein also offers a plug-in valve with Bb or D bows to make the horn even more versatile.

This example has a 7-3/32" gold brass bell with a cut bell and a dual-bore .528"/.547" nickel silver handslide. Thein recommends its A11C or D1AW mouthpiece. See the Thein mouthpiece guide for the full lineup.

Most products sold in the United States receive a 15-day return policy that starts on the day the customer receives their order. The customer is responsible for the cost of initial and return shipping, except in the case of new French horns, trumpets, and trombones, which will receive free return shipping from 48 US states. There will be a $5 cleaning fee for each returned mouthpiece.

Some product categories are ineligible for return, which include special orders, sheet music, consumables such as lubricants or cleaning snakes, and personal items such as clothing or face masks.

Unfortunately, as of May 12, 2025, we can no longer offer returns, exchanges, or refunds to international customers due to the tariff situation. We hope to restore international returns soon.
