Choose a Custom Series handslide to complement your Shires tenor trombone's response, sound, and playing feel. Shires draws its slide tubing in-house, then assembles, aligns, and stress-relieves each handslide for smooth action.
Model designations:
- T: Tenor handslide.
- No crook-width designation: Standard tenor crook.
- W: Wide crook.
- B following T: Bass crook on a tenor handslide.
- Bore numbers: Identify the bore size. For example, 47 indicates .547 inch and 25 indicates .525 inch.
Single-bore configurations:
- T25: .525-inch bore with standard tenor crook.
- T47: .547-inch bore with standard tenor crook; centered sound and feel.
- TW47: .547-inch bore with wide crook; combines an efficient response with orchestral breadth.
- TB47: .547-inch bore with bass crook; an expansive sound and feel.

- TW25-47: .525/.547-inch dual bore with wide crook.

- LW: Lightweight construction without sleeves; quicker response with a more open, brilliant sound.
- N: Nickel-silver outer tubes; brilliant sound and defined articulation.
- G: Gold-brass outer tubes; warmer sound and rounded articulation.
- YC: Yellow-brass crook; warmer, rounder sound and articulation.
