The C190SL229 was developed with Michael Sachs, Principal Trumpet of The Cleveland Orchestra, to create a trumpet with a full, rich core that fills even the largest concert halls. Its combination of specs had never been used on a Bach before, and it gives you wide range, quick response, and the classic "Elkhart Bach" C trumpet sound. Of the five C190 models, it has the broadest, warmest, and fullest orchestral sound. This is the clear lacquer version of the C190SL229.
The C190 series is made in Elkhart, Indiana, and includes five C trumpets with distinct build styles, developed with Bach artists including Esteban Batallán (Principal Trumpet, Chicago Symphony Orchestra), Michael Sachs (Principal Trumpet, The Cleveland Orchestra), and soloist Tine Thing Helseth.
What the model number means
- C means the trumpet is pitched in C.
- 190 is Bach's premium Stradivarius series, with a two-piece valve casing.
- No S in the model number means a clear lacquer finish. The silver-plated version is the C190SL229.
- L is the .462" large bore, the most popular bore for Bach C trumpets.
- 229 is the bell. It's a little broader than Bach's standard #239.
