Thein Brass handcrafts trumpets, trombones, and other brass instruments in Bremen, Germany. Most models are offered with a wide range of bells, leadpipes, metals, and finishes, so players can tailor the instrument to their sound.

Thein developed this bass trombone with Thein artist Brian Hecht of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. It has two Thayer valves, a 9-1/2" yellow brass bell, and a dual-bore handslide.

The .562"/.578" yellow brass handslide has nickel silver tubes, and the reversed tuning slide carries Thein's Belcanto balancer. The bell system is changeable, and the horn comes with Thein's NY-Z leadpipe. See the Thein mouthpiece guide to compare Thein's bass trombone mouthpieces.
