Thein Brass handcrafts trumpets, trombones, and other brass instruments in Bremen, Germany. Most models are offered with a wide range of bells, leadpipes, metals, and finishes, so players can tailor the instrument to their sound.

Thein named the Belcanto for its singing "bel canto" sound. It pairs that sound with an easy, secure feel, so you can put your attention on the music.

The Belcanto is built around Thein's Open Flow valve, an 8-1/2" yellow brass bell with a cut bell, and a .547" yellow brass handslide with nickel silver tubes. The bell system and leadpipe are both changeable, and Thein offers leadpipes for the Belcanto from the standard S1L to much more open designs. See the Thein leadpipe guide to compare them. The reversed tuning slide carries Thein's Belcanto balancer. Thein recommends its P mouthpiece, and the Thein mouthpiece guide covers the rest of the lineup.
